| Hi all, We are upgrading the memory from 2 GB to 4 GB for RS/6000 7026 B80 Pseries 640 Can any one give some light on the procedure for this. (AIX 4.3.3 O/S), please post a step by step procedure, and any thing we need to do in the O/S level. We have all the backups in Tivoli Storage Manager, I mean Database backup of Oracle, do we need to do a mksysb before that? and after installing the new memory, any procedure in AIX??? Thanks in advance Chris |

Does not sound like the typical ebay-home-user configuration... AIX will use the memory without further action. period. Consider tuning the memory usage of the RDBMS and perhaps??? the paging space. Googling the AIX FAQ will help you with a rule of thumb for paging space. The rest depends on... Or you'll need professional help. --- Uli |
