| Hello, I am having some problems with a new AIX 5.2 server. We require a program that will map a specialix serial terminal server port to a /dev/whateverdevicename using the servername:tcpport format. We have tried perle's trueport and stallion's svr_tty but have been unsuccessful in making them work. Trueport errors when adding a terminal server with "cannot load kernel extensions". svr_tty appears to work but creates the /dev/file with the same major/minor numbers as existing tty's and sets the file creation time to the same as the tty. You can echo > to these devices and the prompt returns but nothing comes out from the serial port. If anybody has any suggestions on alternative software or can suggest a work around for these problems I would be most grateful. jetdirect doesn't seem to be an option as it only allows 3 ports. We need around 16 devices per terminal server. cheers |
