Is there anyone who tried to compile Quake or Quake2 for AIX? Or are there
already binaries available anywhere?

For binaries of Q1 go to
ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/aix/freeS...e/games/Quake/

Otherwise, I think you can compile from the sources without much
hassles.
