Hi,

I try to recover the same O.S 4.3.2 from a RS/6000 f50 to RS/6000 f30.

I modified the parameter LOCATION in the stanza target_disk_data: from
/bosinst.data file. The LOCATION has now the F30´s disk.

For the recovery process, the F30 can't boot from tape. The F30 boot
from AIX 4.3.2 CD and then:

# Choose the Start Maintenance Mode for System Recovery option.
# Choose the Install from a System Backup option.
# Choose the drive containing the backup tape.

The recovery finish, but in the reboot the server can't boot from the
disk. Maybe the F50 is very diferent form F30.

How i can clone my f50 on my f30 server? Any suggestions?

I need install two items on the F30: An old aplication and Oracle 7.3.4
that run on F50. I don't have the CDs for install both in the F30

for starters try not to mess with bosinsta.data file.... then clone
from tape... ( chose the target during recovery ), keep CD in CD-ROM
during installation.... And more information regarding "can't boot from
the disk" would help to identify the source of that problem...
Also try access the disk booting the system in service mode off
CD-ROM...
