Eagerly awaiting my thin chocolat mint. |

Reminds me of a job I left where not only the DBAs, but the App developers/admins ALSO had root permission (these guys used to ask me how to login in via a telnet session!)...the "DBAs" were the worst - they couldn't get it through their "NT" (long story; scary and anger inducing memories) oriented brains that AIX/UNIX is a MULTI user platform and that I could make MOST of their problems go away IF they would only allow me to do the job I was hired for...in their minds, EVERYTHING should run as root because there WAS NO OTHER way!.... .....shuddddrrrrrrr Paul p.s. I would have told this DBA, you know enough to have root permission...you broke it, YOU fix it (WRT above situation - I did that a couple of times)!! |
