| I made a mksysb backup on my RS/6000 44P Model 270 with 1 way processor. Now I would like to restore this information on exactly the same hardware except that it is a 2way processor. Is this possible? Or do you really need to have the same processor in it? Thanks, |

If in doubt, or if you want to move a uniprocessor to a multiprocessor box (or vice versa), then the safest way is to boot from the OS install disks and restore the mksysb image from the install menu. That way, all the correct drivers (and kernel if required) will get picked up from the CD. |
