Default rte files

How do I view, decompile, disassemble, extract rte files in AIX?

I need some info from a this type of files.

devices.*.*.rte

they are installable packages.

To view what is in the package without installing, you can "restore"
them in a temporary directory.

Normal packaging rules for AIX apply for the names of scripts run during
the install phase.

AFAIR under /usr/samples there are a few driver/kernel extension
templates with a few comments. I'm not a kernel developer.
