| I am running AIX 5.2 ML06 on 550, 510, and 520 and have my rootvg on SAN (ESS800) In addition all my applications and databases resif on the SAN as well. For the applications VG's I am using SDD. I want to create redundancy for my rootvg now, and see SDDPCM as my only option. I called IBM and told them what I want to do and they told me that the preferred mehtod for rootvg redunancy is to rezone my switch so that I can only see a particular LUN off of only one of the FC HBA's and then mirror rootvg across the unique LUNS. After talking to IBM I relized that if I rezone my switch I would screw up my multipathing under SDD for my application VG's. For this reason I think I should continue to just run everything under SDDPCM. Does this sound like a resonable approach? Thanks John Oetinger |
