| We are getting ready for a shark to emc conversion. Currently we run SDD aix 433 to multipath on the shark. Our plan is to attach the sharks to the new SAN so that the AIX servers can see the shark and emc devices. The sharks are currently on IBM 2109 switches that are being replaced wth Mcdata directors . Has anyone run SDD and the EMC power path on the same AIX servers ? We have reservations about running two multipathing products. Our plan is to migrate the pv's and then delete the shark disk from the odm when finished. I could probably migrate to a plain hdisk then install the powerpath later but we also have concerns about the Volume Groups handling the change in device names from hdisk to whatever emc powerpath uses . Any experiences / advice appreciated . |

| There should be no problems running SDD and powerpath at the same machine. But why ? Change of volume names (migration of existing volume groups from hdisk to hdiskpower device names) after installing powerpath is done automaticly during installation of powerpath, so you should not worry about that.
