| Greetings, on said hardware (RS/6000 43P model 150) I am experiencing a behavior which I cannot quite nail down; please note that my experience with AIX is rather limited, so if it's just me feel free to point me to self-help resources. The problem is as follows: after performing either shutdown -F -h or shutdown -F -h -p after rebooting I do eventually get an email message from diagela: A PROBLEM WAS DETECTED ON Wed Aug 16 12:16:11 DFT 2006 801014 The Service Request Number(s)/Probable Cause(s) (causes are listed in descending order of probability): 651-824: System shutdown due to power fault with unspecified cause. and the output of errpt -d S shows: IDENTIFIER TIMESTAMP T C RESOURCE_NAME DESCRIPTION 071F4755 0816181206 P H sysplanar0 ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEM 071F4755 0816154706 P H sysplanar0 ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEM 071F4755 0816121206 P H sysplanar0 ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEM 071F4755 0726163606 P H sysplanar0 ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEM 071F4755 0607094506 P H sysplanar0 ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEM My problem is that I don't know if the above is just normal, a sign that the power supply is dying, or my error. As far as I could tell "shutdown -F -h" should also power the machine off, but I could not verify that this is what supposed to happen on this specific hardware.
