Default snmpd on AIX 4.3.3 or 5.1

Is there any reason I should run snmpd on AIX 4.3.3 or 5.1? Does it
pose a security exposure? If I shut it off will something in the OS
break?

Todd,

Thank you for the response. Your question back to me is:

No I don't use SNMP management on this box and we are not monitoring
it using Netview. So I'm going to turn it off and see if anything
screams. I'll let you know if this breaks anything.
