| Hi, I'm struggling with a strange AIX behaviour. What happens is: 1. Windows box sends nbname (TCP 137) broadcast packet 2. AIX box sends arp who-has windows-box-mac-addr 3. AIX gets arp who-has response 4. AIX sends ICMP destination unreachable packet to Windows box. As I have more than 600 Windows boxes it's a bit annoing... AIX version 5.2 ML1 - production server, I had no downtime to upgrade to ML3, DB2 v. 8, nothing more. Both tcp and udp pmtu discover options turned off. All systems have 10.81.128/21 network set up, all are in the same segment, all use same default gateway, yet talk to each other directly. It's totally strange as it's the only system behaving like this, other AIX boxes simply ignore netbios broadcasts. All ideas welcome, thogh don't ask me to change the switch port, restrict icmp or netbios broadcasts. Best regs Raff -- raffdude-at-poczta-dot-onet-dot-pl |
