Default Antw: system won't boot.

Hi,
517 on LED is shown if ipl_varyon completes successfully otherwise 552, 554 or 556 are shown and the boot process stops. So it stucks on mounting / (root) and /usr.
Why are you booting in Service Mode?
regards robyn

I wanted to start with a fresh system. I wiped out my data on my discs and
am trying to boot from tape to do an install. I see the tape activate, but
I am not getting anything on the console. Before, when I booted in service
mode without the tape, it did ask me to select the console. Now there is
nothing. I don't think it is booting all the way up, and I get a display of
517 on the system .

Thanks
