Its seems that the software-maintenence is the big part of costs and its compulsary. regards Andy |

My guess is that with difficult economic times, IBM is trying to make sure they can get as much revenue as they can, and they did not check too carefully for this stuff with v4 so they may have lost some potential revenue. They seem to be more careful about this with v5. So, it looks like if you want to migrate to v5 legally, will need to pay the licensing cost. I don't recall what other vendors charges (such as Sun) but it may be comparable. -Dan |
