| Yeah, my company has a corporate license with McAfee, we use uvscan. Can't say its any good really, the whole concept of virus's on UNIX is a bogus idea to me, but for what its worth the software is there. I would strongly advice keeping it out of your oracle databases - assuming it could see them anyway. | When I did an eval with the uvscan, it just skips over the database files. I see very little value in teh scanning, but the customer does not agree.. Even then it tenuous at best. Besides, we've been using M$ 2003 server with XP clients for the PCs and its pretty stable - so our PC LAN is over there, and our UNIX systems are over here and they hardly ever talk to each other. But as you said - the customer doesn't agree. > "Eigenvector" <m44_master@yahoo.com> wrote in message > news:NaZ6e.57$uW5.4265@news.uswest.net... > > Yeah, my company has a corporate license with McAfee, we use uvscan. > > > > Can't say its any good really, the whole concept of virus's on UNIX is a > > bogus idea to me, but for what its worth the software is there.
