Need to replace a SCSI controller on an IBM RS6000 44P Model 170
machine running AIX 4.3.3. Any ideas as to a SCSI controller card that
would be compatible with this system?

Hi eric,

there are several options for it. Depends on type do you require,

6203 - PCI Dual Channel ultra3 scsi adapter would be a great choice.
Its LVD.

Others like Ultra2, might be cheaper, the feature code would 6205 PCI
Dual Channel Ultra2 scsi adapter.

Others would be the following:

6204 - Differential ultrascsi adapter
6206 - single ended ultra scsi adapter

If you plan to attach the 44p to a jbod like 2104 and have a hardware
raid, 2498 (pci 4-channel ultra3 scsi raid adapter) would be a good
choice.
