Default What GUI APIs are available in recent AIX releases?
Dumb question, eh? I haven't worked with AIX in about 10 years - back
then the latest and greatest was MOTIF. Has IBM moved to anything
later and/or greater? KDE, Gnome, et. al?

AIX has evolved into a server OS in the past years. The x-window is
still there, with CDE being the standard desktop. You do have KDE and
Gnome on AIX, those are part of the "linux affinity" features on AIX
5L. To get those components, you would need to install the AIX Toolbox
for Linux, see this link for details and download sites:
