Default xlC.rte downgrade ?

Hi
I use an AIX 5.
I installed xlC 6 and compiled our product, but our client
can't use it on his AIX cos he has a xlC.rte 5.0.2.1 and can't
upgrade.

So I need to downgrade my xlC and compile again my stuff with xlC 5.

Problem is that I can't uninstall xlC.rte and xlC.aix50.rte 6.0.0.0
because almost every package depends on it.

Is there a way to replace xlC*.rte 6.* by xlC*.rte 5.* ???

Thanks for your answers

Why not?

No. You wouldn't want to anyway.

The V6 RTE is fully compatible with V5 apps. And the 5.0.2.1
RTE has "issues" that have been fixed. Request that your customer
upgrade.

You can also do a non-default install of V5, IIRC, and try using
the V5 runtime in your build, but that's not recommended.

You can also de-install the V6 compiler and build with V5, but
again, RTE updates stopped at 5.0.2.<something> and picked up
again in 6.0.0.0. Just a continuous series of improvements.

You could also have your customer use LIBPATH to point to
the more recent libC.a/libC_r.a in a custom directory.
