Please I can't speak for "professional" input, since there is no source or anything, but from a user's perspective, it's quite a good tool. It works, is said to be as good as the legendary F-Prot for DOS, and all files are PGP signed. I'm sure you can get in touch with at least one of the developers personally to verify the signatures. They provide versions for OpenBSD 3.3 and 3.4 (last time I looked), statically linked, so they run on almost anything i386. On the other hand, there's no okay to mirror the files, so making a port is not an option. >keep in mind I will have to manually update the software. Unpacking F-Prot, replacing the virus definition files with the most current versions, and running from where you extracted it, just as it was usual for good old DOS programmes, is no problem. I'd suggest - though you probably know that already - that you test them on a non-"live" system first. Another advice: your mail looked like spam at the first look. Maybe due to the weird indenting and many empty lines. bye, //mirabile |
