| Todd, this isn't directed towards you or at the OpenBSD community as a complaint, but constructive criticism is how things move forward. <rant> Isn't OpenBSD supposed to be the most "secure" operating system out there? With a slogan of "Only one remote hole in the default install, in more than 8 years!" I would think so. Just about every research study done shows that systems aren't secure unless administrators keep them patched. Yes, OpenBSD does a fine job of updating the errata page when new patches are released, but how are systems admins supposed to alerted to changes without going to the errata.html page daily or writing a script to notify them of changes in the page, which I have just done. The definition of the security-announce list is "This low volume list receives OpenBSD security advisories and pointers to security patches as they become available." No it doesn't. I don't think there has been one posting about 3.6 at all. As of right now the list is more like airline security, it's there to comfort old people, but in reality it doesn't do much. If you submit patches, please also shoot an email to the security-announce list. It might take an extra 30 seconds, but it actually _helps_ make OpenBSD more secure. </rant> And yes, I apoligize for sending a subsribe request to the list, I realized it right after I hit the send button. -Chris Mika Todd C.
