My second email had a "last chance" option for non-existing files. Anyway, then my vote goes for "screw localized timestamps" and just get whatever comes between "^(marker)(white-space)" and "(white-space)(Sun|Mon|Tue|Wed|Thu|Fri|Sat)(white-space).*$". And screw filenames like "The Sun Is Shining". Who would do that and even patch it anyway? But before drawing a line between what's awfully complicated and what's not, let's perhaps agree on a set of diff formats to accept. Perhaps someone with access to large variations of diff(1) could populate regress/usr.bin/patch with what's going to be accepted and then we find out how to do it. Sorry about creating tasks for the "someone" entity. -- I drowned in the universal pool of entropy Eris has saved me, and she has set me free |
