Default reading from a usb2 hd gets interupted

Hi,

I just bought a usb2.0 pci card. Looks like it's called uhub in
dmesg and an external usb hdcase in which you can insert normal
ide HD's

Then I put my 80 GB HD wd1 which always worked fine in the
USB-drive so now it's sd0. And I put a new 160 GB HD in it's former place which is now wd1.

I wanted to copy all data over to the new HD.

After about 10 seconds of excelent speed copying the datatransfer
got stuck for over 30 seconds. top showed the process got stuck in
``getblk''

Then I tried copying a large file to sd0 and that goes fine.
Reading mp3's from it with xmms also goes fine. Reading a large
file via nfs gives the same problematic behaviour.

After moving the usbdrive from the usb2 hub to the old usb1 hub I
get the following additions in dmesg:

umass0: at uhub3 port 1 (addr 2) disconnected
sd0 detached
scsibus0 detached
umass0 detached

sd0: 78167MB, 78167 cyl, 64 head, 32 sec, 512 bytes/sec, 160086528 sec total

If I now copy data from The sd0 drive to the wd1 drive the
transfer goes smooth, just very slow with 1mb/s.

So to sum up; fast datareading with the usb hub doesn't go very
well.

Where to go from here?
