Default 2.6.9 won't halt

Just upgraded my laptop from 2.6.7 to 2.6.9, now i can't halt the
machine.
Halt command (as root) seems to run well calling acpi and halting the
system but, after 2 secs the machine always turns up again.
Any clue?
Thanks,

Stefano

No, but you're not alone.

I've got an acer travelmate 634LC and the same problem.
In 2.6.8.1 the time was broken (running too fast) and now this.

kind regards -ph-

In 2.6 series I only ever tried 2.6.7 and it gave the same problems.
Also the udev doesn't always does it's job. May be I am old but to me
/dev/* seem to work the best when compared to devfs or udev. On top of
that 2.4.26 is giving me faster boot time and quicker interactive
performace which ofcourse is very subjective. I think for now I will
stick with 2.4.26.

*ASBESTOS SUIT ON* :-)
