they fixed annoying bug in new Xfree
http://freedesktop.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=474
I wonder when Pat updates current.
Meanwhile, have wnyone tried to compile it from sources using Pat's
scripts ?
I've tried cvs version with bad results.

There will apparantly be packages available from LinuxPackages.net soon,
not sure about official packages.

I compiled it from source without any issues at all. It did do something
funny though. If I ran any Java programs it totally locked up X so that
I had to do a hard shutdown on my system. I couldn't do anything. I
updated java to 1.5 and this seemed to resolve it but if I try to use
direct rendering after running java it just brings up a blank black
screen. I have to restart X to get it to work correctly again.
