Can someone tell me how Linux's support for Ati Mobile Radeon 9200 is?

I dont know about mobile, but I have a 9200se in my desktop and I
managed to get it working with the xorg that comes with slack 10 and
also it used to work fine on xfree86 in slack 9.1.

In my laptop it works perfectly with slack 10 and default kernel with
ati drivers.
Switching to 2.6.7 i had to use the kernel radeon drivers, neither the
ati drivers nor the unofficial drivers with the patch worked for me.

You have ATI proprietary drivers & the open source DRI drivers
(dri.sourceforge.net)

You even have a review about ATI cards there. Have a look.
