Attempting to get to grips with all this new HAL stuff in 12, my user
account is in the plugdev group, the desktop environment (XFCE4) spots
the inserted discs but can't mount them:

And indeed, checking lshal I see:

org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Storage.method_names = {'Eject', 'CloseTray'}

Shouldn't there be a 'Mount' method?

Wrong item, should have been the volume item:
org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Volume.method_names = {'Eject'}

Humm... I may have a dodgy drive (NEC 3550A), trying a few other discs
and it magically works, and now the first set of discs I tried that
didn't work originally, do.
