| Hi, I recently switched to kde 3.5 which has kmail 1.8 in it. I want to have openoffice as my default editor but I can't figure out how to make this happen. The settings menu apparently doesn't have this as an option. Any ideas? Thanks, jwc |

Clicking on a .doc attachment still calls up kword. |

Ahhh. The default editor is just to write e-mails. You want to change KDE's default association/mimetype for doc's. Konqueror: Settings - Configure Konqueror - Default Associations. Fran |

What's the point, the battle's won - XEmacs rules :-) > KDE is fine No it isn't - its bloated, slow and ugly - that I can get in the mirror every morning. More futility - Gnus has chased off the opposition :-) > this gettin to be very boring .... Our three most annoying trolls seem to have all gone on vacation at the same time, leaving us to our own devices. Consequently, people come into aols and ask questions and they are promptly answered with thoughtfullness and courtesy. I think that pretty much lays to rest any myths about aols being a bunch of ill mannered jerks spoiling for a fight. Not that there was ever any doubt in *my* mind. nb |
