| I am trying to mount a Knoppix computer under NFS. This used to be no problem but Knoppix has gone to the UNIONFS filesystem in the latest version. When Knoppix is mounted at / I I can see directories that look like: etc -> /UNIONFS/etc but they are not readable. Does Slackware support UNIONFS at all? Has there been any mention of support in future versions? There were no hits under Google using 'slackware unionfs' search term except for some Slax stuff. Nothing in the changelog. Nothing in /usr/src/linux/.config. Using Slackware 10.1 with the 2.4.29 kernel. Larry -- My real sig is much better. |

Seems the Linux kernel does not support it(as far as I can find in the kernel config file), so you would have to find whatever 3rd party module Knoppix and Slax use. |

It is available online at: http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/7714 compiled without hassle for my own 2.4.31 cu Frank -- "What do you give a man who has everything?" the pretty teenager asked her mother. | Checkout http://www.linuxlive.or At this point unionfs isn't available natively in the kernel. Yo need to download the source and compile it for your kernel Unionfs allows you to mount multiple filesystems on top of each other which is very handy for live cds Message posted via ==================== www.linuxpackages.net/foru www.linuxpackages.ne Expanding the world of Slackwar ===================== |
