with a asus v8200t5 i added a Matrox g450, but when used out of kde it
stops the asus. is there a way to prevent this and do debugging?

it has nothing (but gui) that multihead howto does not, except it might
be newer if it meant i could use another nvidia. in console, matroxfb
crtc2 and g450 modules stop both displays, so i cannot try SETedit or
ddd. xddd or dual X (which i had mentioned kde does somewhat) can be
later, if ever. maybe i should ask the dualhead howto author.
