| Trying to get slak current up and running. X exits with above error. Checked the font paths, etc. Everything appears normal. Tried on two different machines. Laptop and Desktop. So it seems to be hardware independent. Both got radeon chipsets though. Anybody else getting this error. Its a showstopper. If anybody can throw some light on this, that would be great. I remember this problem when the first -current came out, and Pat had ficed it by changing the order in UPGRADE.TXT |

I have looked at UPGRADE.TXT some time ago. But not recently. I will have another look and see if there is anything that might help. Frank Fox ffox@optusnet.com.au |

Install l/expat first before installing the new fonts in x/ if you haven't installed expat, try install expat and reinstalling the font packages That solves my problem See my blog here: http://willysr.blogspot.com/2007/03/...e-current.html |

You need to install expat library before installing the new font packages If you install expat after installing the font packages, try reinstalling the font-packages again and it will solve your problem |

Once I built and installed that and ran mkfontdir /usr/share/fonts/misc/ mkfontscale /usr/share/fonts/misc/ That fixed it. |

Because of the way I installed it, mkfontdir and fontconfig had not been run. My fault. Thanks to all those that replied. Frank Fox ffox@optusnet.com.au |
