For me, a system with LILO, ext2 and 2.4 kernel is a system of hell,
coz i have a notebook with plenty of hw (namely wireless card) that is
only supported in 2.6, AFAIK.

The truth is that every operating system works well once it's
customized. However, not all systems are customizable to such extent
(Gentoo perhaps?), i agree...
