| There is a nice utility I use in linux that will back my data to a Ext2 CD. I would like to be able to restore the data to either linux or Windows 2000 systems. I have not been able to find anything to do it and wonder if I am the first person to ever try to read an Ext2 cd in windows. Regards; davidbren@earthlink.net |

This does not help me out because I need to read from a CD Rom. I have checked out two free products and tried and recived technical support on a commercial product. Everybody says that they can not read from an Ext2 CD rom. I know people are going to tell me " a device is a device" and this will work. The problem is that my system and the people who write the software say they can not do it. |

Everybody > says that they can not read from an Ext2 CD rom. so that means you need another solution. if you back up your data to a cdrom with an iso9660 file system with both joliet and rock ridge extensions, you'll be able to read it on windows and linux without problems. although you'll probably need a different backup procedure... -- Joost Kremers since when is vi an editor? a discussion on vi belongs in comp.tools.unusable or something... |
