| I have problem to set Slackware 9 into my motherlanguage Estonian (ISO8859-15). I searched the variable LC_ALL to set it et_EE but didn't find nowhere. I looked at /etc and also other system folders. Is there any chance to get Slack work in Estonian language? I also tried to find where to change console font. I know, that lat9u-14.psfu.gz would be the best font, which is supporting Estonian letters. I even found that font but where to set it and save new configuration - couldn't find. I hope if I can change the default console font - I can type in Estonian in cmdline. "env" shows me, that LANG=C and C is en_US. Where to know, which letter on which language is assigned (e.g. ew already know, that C=en_US)? I tried to export Estonian: export LANG=et_EE and also tried export LANG=et_EE.ISO8859-15 but no results but not all letters (with "roof") didn't appear correctly. All cmdline programs were still in English and even df showed me in english. And I don't know how to save that choice if I changed language. I found in /usr/share/kbd/keymaps/i386/qwerty/et-nodeadkeys.map.gz as my keyboard layout and it is also defined in file /etc/rc.d/rc.keymap I use Slackware 9.0 (default packages) with Dropline Gnome 2.2.2. This is also big problem - how to get that Dropline Gnome into Estonian? Does Gnome change its language after restarting XFree86, e.g., if I can somehow change system language to et_EE? Thanks to any posts. |
