I can't find any such tool via Google or Freshmeat... is there anything that
can automatically expunge deleted mails from IMAP folders?

Most half-decent MUAs do this when you log out. What's your problem.

if you're looking for server side solution,
courier imap does that. It can set all deletes to be
expunged by default and can also purge messages from
different folder after X amount of days.
