After I installed Planner 0.12.1 all my file assoiations are are gone,
and also some of my desktop icons. I have tried to add new assoiations
for different file types, but no luck. Some ideas?

Problem solved.
Planner overwrites the shared mime info. Just re-install this package
after Planner installation.
