| I have a machine with ASUS A7N266-VM motherboard running AMD 1700 XP 1466HZ processor with onboard nvidia netcard, sound etc. Slackware 9.0 installs directly and after downloading the nvidia driver nvnet from nvidia for the netcard I am connected. Both in X11 and in console the keyboard seem to hang occastionally for a few seconds up some minutes when I am browsing the net or have logged on to another computer with ssh. I do not understand why. It seems to have something to to with the nvidia driver nvnet. On the same machine I a also have KNOPPIX 3.3 (Debian, kernel 2.4.22) and W2000. No hanging there while browsing. The KNOPPIX 3.3 also uses the nvnet driver for the netcard. KNOPPIX also installs directly out of the box. How can slackware be different? Slackware 9.0 comes with kernel 2.4.18 (or was it 2.4.20 ?)... If it works in Debian with 2.4.22 you might want to upgrade to that on Slackware as well. Or upgrade the whole lot to 9.1 (which comes with 2.4.22 OOTB). > <!doctype html public "-//w3c//dtd html 4.0 transitional//en"> > <html> What is this crap all about? It sounds more like you forgot to edit /etc/resolv.conf and define your nameservers; nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx Where x's are the IP#. You may also want to get rid of all the html shit as well which you attached to this mail. Configure mozilla properly please. -- If the Linux community is a bunch of theives because they try to imitate windows programs, then the Windows community is built on organized crime.
