| Every so often you will see a post letting people know that an updated Best of alt.os.linux.slackware Fortune Mod is available for download. The url is: <URL:http://asciipr0n.com/fp/linux/slack-fortune.html> portion of the mode. This fortune mod is a collection of quotes posted seen on AOsLS or by AOsLS regulars that were deemed so wise/inflammatory that someone took the time to follow the guidelines below and see to it that they were included in the next release: 1) All quotes must be attributed. 2) These things had better be trimmed. 3) Anytime you see a post from a AOsLS regular that is not in AOsLS but you want it included please mention what group it was from. If I have to search for it then the quote goes to /dev/null. 4) The fortune mode comes out when I feel like it. But if you feel that its been a while then you can nag me. 5) I have a job now which means less time for reading. Which means that I need you to send more quotes in because I can't do all the work. Methods of sending them in: A) Via email 1) The Subject line should match the following regex: "^Subject:.*mod\ quote$". Thus "here is a mod quote" will work just fine for a subject while "mod quote nomination" will not So if you want to send an email that is not a submission you had better make sure that it don't match that. If you don't know what a regex is then you will probably become the victim of one of these quotes. 2) The address to send them to is faux_pseudo in the realm of yahoo dot com. B) Via IM 1) Send an IM to one of the fallowing accounts: yahoo_nick faux_pseudo icq_uin 66618055 aim_nick proxyfugozi 2) Just send the quote with the name of the person who made the quote. |
