| Hi, I'd like JuK from kdemultimedia to use libmusicbrainz, but looks like it isn't compiled to use this library. Now I know how to recompile a "normal" app, but how do I go about an app included in a huge package like this? I don't have the slightest clue where even to begin. I inserted the third CD and took a look in /sources. The /kdemultimedia directory contains a tar.bz2 archive, a description "slack-desc", a bizarre file named ugly-kernel-patch.diff.gz... and an executable file called "kdemultimedia.Slackbuild", but this is not a text file nor some shell script that I could open/edit with vi. Now what can a poor boy do? (Possibly without breaking everything on his system...) Niki Kovacs -- I'm not as think as you stoned I am. |

You must have a corrupted CD. kdemultimedia.Slackbuild is a shellscript easily read by vi (or other text editor). My memory is rusty but I think I did it this way: Run 'configure' with options in the root of the package and then cd into the admin directory and run 'make' here. Then cd into the juk directory and run 'make' and 'make install' here. -- Thomas O. This area is designed to become quite warm during normal operation. |

It's much better anyway. |
