| Has anyone else had any trouble with segmentation faults when trying to install something via rpm using Slackware-Current. I need to use this to reinstall Win4Lin after my system crashed over the weekend. I can change the rpm file to tgz using rpm2tgz but Win4Lin still thinks it is not installed. I need to know what I need to do to get rpm working again. This is the only thing I need it for. Everything else I use the Slackware packages or compile from source. -- Kathy Wills ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++++++++++++ + Genealogy Web Site: http://www.kathywillsfamily.com + + + + Summit Group Web Site: http://www.tsginfo.com/index.php?rc=VW4374 + ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++++++++++++ |

That's cause slackware isn't meant to use rpm's very well. It's only a "if this works, lucky you" thing. You can try converting it to a slackware package using "rpm2tgz foo.rpm", or you can try to find the source for it. I feel your pain: yahoo IM only offers rpm's and other packages, not slack packages or source code, so it's not really available for slackware. -- " ... and are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights ... After doing some more research, I upgraded the rpm package along with the libraries it is dependent on which are elflibs, bzip2, and popt. After upgrading these the Win4Lin rpm installed and is running great. -- Kathy Wills ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++++++++++++ + Genealogy Web Site: http://www.kathywillsfamily.com + + + + Summit Group Web Site: http://www.tsginfo.com/index.php?rc=VW4374 + ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++++++++++++ |
