Default Slackware 12.0 Release

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1

Well the cat's out of the bag. The ChangeLog doesn't yet show it, but
Slackware 12.0 has been released with no changes since July 1st's last
updates. Enjoy, and always use a mirror. You may want to wait for
mirrors to sync up, or check for torrents which should be up within a
couple hours.

Nevermind. Found it in the */isolinux/README.TXT. Now, if I can just
figure it out before they actually load the 12.0 images.....

A big thanks to the people here who helped with the release as well as the
Slackbuilds.org folks.

Not bad for a dead distro with no community.

Agreed.

The trolls "rm" and "ANC" are the only two who believe that.

HD install is faster anyway. I may do that this time as I've ended up
with too many ISO's over time that the md5sum checked but it went weird
on me.

I think I'll download all the packages, plus the goodies in extra and
all the readmes and what not. Then I'll burn it all to CD.

I might wait though. Yeah, on second thought I will and let others fight
the niggles if they are any and stay safe and serene myself :-)

Come on, you know someone can find a pessimistic side to this.

Well, call me Porky, pahd'nuh!

I just tried to do the torrent thing on a 11.0 box. What a pile o'
crap that is. I tried bittornado and bittorrent both with no joy.
bittornado didn't do zip at all while bittorent gave me some kinda
crap about:

File "/usr/bin/bittorrent", line 177, in ?
import gtk

These from 11.0 extras. Not only that, but bittornado has nada docs
and NAT ports are different on every website for each one. Screw it,
I'll wait for the ISOs or my slack subscription to come through. I've
used dozens of p2p clients, yet have never got torrents to work.

I'll watch the newsgroup with interest, my new Broadband/ADSL connection
being miles from anywhere is running far too slowly to download before my
subscription discs come, although my ISP is working hard to get my speed
up to where it should be. The delivery time from California will allow
others to ask the questions that I might have had to for me.
