| Hi, i have a problem when installing Slackware 8.0 over NFS. I try to install the slack in my Latitude XPI p133ST laptop. On it, i have a 800 mo hard disk and 16 mo RAM. I have install Omni-NFS on my windows BOX and i can access it trough NFS with my laptop. In order to install the slack, i use the bare.i boot disk and the Color.gz root disk and pcmcia services (pcmcia.dsk). My card is recognize and everything works properly. I have made a 770 mo partition for "/" as Linux native and 30 mo for the swap partition. In the setup program, i set the 30 mo to be the swap partition. Then, the target is "/" and i format the disk. I set NFS informations and i can access the slackware directory on my IDE disk in my Win BOX. After that, i select what packages i want to install (i do not install everything because of my disk size) and when it asks me what installation i want, after selected newbie menu the setup menu disapears and its written : chmod /mnt/usr chmod /mnt/tmp /usr/lib...... etc -> cannot create /mnt/etc/fstab : directory non-existent There are 4 times the last message. I have searched on google groups and web to find an answer. I'm happy to see that i'm not the only one with this problem but what scared me is that there are no answers or they are not good for my case. So i've decided to post an SOS here For information, on my windows BOX, the slackware directory that is shared is on an IDE disk (Excel Maxtor 10 Go). For linux slackware experts (or not, maybe i'm too bad), any help will be appreciate ! Tciao, have a nice day all ! |
