Anyone? why don't you find another source of slackware-current cds? obviously the person who made those isos didn't bother to check the size. |

Anyone? It's mostly not a problem for the CD recorder (unless your appliances are a lot older than what you were sold them for), though ... It is true that finding some recordable CD of 730 740 750 and even 800 may involve some harsh commitment to live forces. Like meeting some people in places where people go and meet people to sell and or buy stuff. I'm not aware of what kind of device make this in your specific area, but in some retarded places I know, around my homeabouts, like France, Norway, England, Spain, Italy, even Vatican, we call them stores, sometimes hyperstores or megastores. PS: it may involve some cash in the process ;-) |

I have the May 2, 2005, these are the May 16, 2005 from the ftp.mirrors.ca.uk/sites/ftp.slackware.com/current.iso I have the former on CD anyway but was going to look at the new ones, because the changelog says it has the Linux 2.6.11 and 2.4.30 in it. Plus many new additional features and updates. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.7 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFCi70NTVY8putMdaARAhpEAJ9HY8k7rAM0MU5j6NVT+d A6cU2eIgCgm0+A UZPmcxI+FWv7NG/hpaBqgf8= =RwNt -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

If I had a DVD recorder I would download the DVD one, and not bother with the CD one -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.7 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFCi71ATVY8putMdaARAijkAJwMDshpoecG0iR9FoARt+ LpWJLkRwCeMxto z9COoV4cGONTkIKxm9nfHPM= =rQjA -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

So it's actually pretty up to date. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.7 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFCi72eTVY8putMdaARAtipAJ9NYa4gPwoIKpHeL+5Bj7 clNjHVXACfUsFG 6tBdVLo6PQZJ40nYp1ktD88= =Z+yb -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

Hmm well if ever I became a Programer, and did that, be sure I would find time to test it out. I would not even take the time to just arbitrarily let something out, knowing it could mangle a system. the May 2, 2005 ones I have are what I had to use to make a E-Machine Laptop work right. The Official 10.1 Feb release just would not even set the Sound and Modem apart. Intel Chipset too. The May 2, 2005 one made sure they had different IRQ and Hex Addresses, and even was able to make the SMC Wireless NIC work without a problem, just adding a good DHCP Host for the IP to be fetched from. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.7 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFCi87STVY8putMdaARAivoAJ9oI1x9bCDFN0tknN03pU Nw2IBU3gCgyrvF ZmXFdWo+XKN5aUAUuFMHxjU= =D0+X -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

Downloaded and will burn to CD later, I have this one working pretty good, so I don't think I want ot go and ruin it now. maybe if something happens to this one I will. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.7 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFCi+EMTVY8putMdaARAgRGAKDN5hqoOqGD/wZ6kDyVla4lezA5ZgCcC6eI vigjMYktQPTbxuw8Qify5Lg= =wom9 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |
