Could you try to run the benchmark at http://www.free3d.org/ ? regards Henrik -- The address in the header is only to prevent spam. I can't seem to override the Synaptics Touchpad connection. I've also been able to get a better 1280x800 resolution with the latest Xorg. The atheros wireless works fine with WPA2-PSK , read the README for wpa_supplicant in /usr/doc/wpa_supplicant-0.5.7 Wireless comes up with (after applying madwifi kernel patch) wpa_supplicant -w -iath0 -c/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf -d http://zentara.net/Satellite/Linux_S...A135-S2246.txt zentara -- I'm not really a human, but I play one on earth. http://zentara.net/japh.html |

Kernel is Ubuntu's 2.6.17-11 with a ton of modules loaded - only ones I'm sure are mouse-related are psmouse & usbhid (for my USB wireless Logitech). My Belkin USB mouse works too. The X server says the screen isn't DRI compatible. I'm using kernel 2.6.21.1 and I've compiled in DRI and the ATI Radeon driver. Anyway on battery power at 1.2 GHz, I get 660 fps. |

I have gotten 816 fps with software OpenGL on a Radeon 9250, but that was on a high end dual opteron. It would be more fair to compare with other laptops and at http://www.free3d.org/ there is a ATI Radeon Mobility M6 which gets 581 fps with hardware accelerated OpenGL enabled. regards Henrik -- The address in the header is only to prevent spam. My Belkin USB mouse works too. Thanks for the tip. I may be having a problem, because my psmouse is built into the kernel. At least I know know that it should work. :-) zentara -- I'm not really a human, but I play one on earth. http://zentara.net/japh.html |

I'm just wondering: does your xorg.conf have this bit of code: Section "DRI" mode 0666 EndSection It may make all the difference in the world. I get about 1800 fps on my lenovo laptop with an intel mobile 945GM. HTH. John. |
