| I had squid running just fine on Slack 8.1, but since I upgraded to Slack 9.0 it just bombs out. I am using the same config file and there are no permissions issues. If I run squid -XN the last thing it says is: 2003/07/27 15:09:21| leave_suid: PID 10318 called 2003/07/27 15:09:21| leave_suid: PID 10318 giving up root, becoming 'nobody' Aborted So what's new in Slackware that squid doesn't like? I am using the same config file and there are no OK ignore that, it just started working for no apparent reason, just after I got some strange behaviour from pan (temporarily lost contents of header list) so that's ok. Nothing in the logs (that I can understand) to suggest what happened though. Any suggestions? Monster -- Spam will eat itself |

I tried copying the cache from the previous installation first, when that didn't work did squid -z and it didn't work either. However, all is okay now, I just don't know what has changed. Problems always vanish after you post a question, at least that's how it works for me. I think it must be Bob wanting us to look silly. DB |
