| -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 NotDashEscaped: You need GnuPG to verify this message So I have a strange problem with my workstation running 9.1/kernel 2.6.2. I accidentally sent a three finger salute to it, instead of my work windows machine (I've now fixed my inittab to ignore three finger salutes to keep this from happening again). When my machine rebooted as I erroneously requested, it booted correctly but failed to start a single agetty/login. I ssh'd into it and ran "telinit u" after some man'ing and googling, and voila all my terminals were started and I could login locally. So I rebooted to make sure there wasn't still something wrong, and again no login prompt and no agetty's are running. Does this sound at all familiar to anyone? I'm confused, as the reset of init fixes the problem, but not on boot...
