| -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I see a lot of griping here from people about slamd64 a 64 bit version of slackware. The other day I went to help a friend who was having problems with getting kernel 2.6 to work. On the same box where 2.4 worked he couldn't get 2.6 to work without getting all kinds of strange library issues that would cause things like a recursive login prompt. After playing with it for a while and trying to figure out what could be causing such a strange problem I voted for a new install of slamd64 stable. With it all of those pesky problems went away. So I thought it fitting to post a thank you here and to also thank him for the laptop I was given for my troubles. Now I do feel as though I failed. I found a solution but didn't find the solution. The computer geek in me still wants to know why the error was happening with 2.6 but I got a shiny, small, late model laptop out of it so I can let my pride take a back seat on that one knowing that the solution worked. - -- =()==()==()==()==()- http://fauxascii.com \ \ \ \ \ \ ASCII artist :F_P:-O- -O- -O- -O- -O- -O- -O- Get your ASCII Art T-Shirt: http://www.keystroketshirts.com/asci...-fullView.php# -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFGwl0PSJec2PH9pbURAvc4AJ9RBb3/sM+RZ0TDz6FaYNdaZEUCHgCdFo5j uYnmbsIc/jkqMgWmSJOl4CI= =a06W -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |
