I would like to upgrade my KMail under 10.2 to the latest KMail version.
Is this possible without having to upgrade the whole of kde, or even the
kde-pim package?

You'll have to upgrade both kdelibs and kdebase first and this will break
the rest of KDE. So if you want to use KDE you'll have to upgrade all of
it.

But if its the time consuming compiling thats buggering you then there's
prebuild packages for Slackware 10.2 at all KDE's mirrors in the contrib
directory.
