| Hi knights of the web :P Yesterday after doing a routine "emerge world", where nothing apparently related to opengl was download, I end up with a strange problem. I can't run amyops for the following reason: "hddv@gentoo hddv $ armyops Could not load OpenGL library History: Exiting due to error" well then I've launched xdpyinfo and if I have GLX and NV-GLX present, NVIDIA-GLX is missing. I also checked my xorg.conf everything is fine (I have launch "glx" and Driver "nvidia" correctly setup) Then I also emerge nvidia-kernel nvidia-glx and glibc but it's still impossible to have the game starting again. Still, I don't know if the problem is relate to the game or opengl. How can u test if opengl is working fine? (btw doing glxgears is ok) Thanks for any advice |

The strange thing is that AA was working great on my Gentoo box for about a year now. The last thing I did was an emerge world and I mostly get gnome 2.6.2 stuffs. Opengl seems to work ok. here's my glxinfo output: hddv@gentoo hddv $ glxinfo name of display: :0.0 display: :0 screen: 0 direct rendering: Yes server glx vendor string: NVIDIA Corporation server glx version string: 1.3 server glx extensions: ..... plz help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Sorry I couldn't help more. > it's working, > appart from the critical errors that piss me off on bridge SE... > The critical errors are not restricted to Bridge SE, they are related to viewing your team mates on Windows in third person mode. Hit E to view in first person mode and they won't happen. You can always tell the people that get a CE, you see the messages: Caltrap666 has left the server. Caltrap666 was shot by Bl@ster. I tried AA on Linux and all the graphics were all funny, I had lines coming from the weapon sights in a ray pattern. Since I upgraded to the latest nVidia drivers it works perfectly. Alot smoother than when doing it on the same machine on Win98, and I can spectate third person with out crashs. > The strange thing is that AA was working great on my Gentoo box for about > a year now. Did you get the same errors? Did you try and remove and re-install AA? Since AA is a binary install maybe it has some sort of environment detection and expects the old Gnome stuff to be there. Have you searched and/or asked on the AA forums? BTW My favourite map is Bridge SE, what userID are you? Mine is hazza96, I have only been playing for a couple of weeks so I only have 18 honor. -- Regards, Harry Phillips |

I'm back and I thanks so much Well just to know: is there a way to get the game back to normal and don't have to start it by preloading the opengl library??? |
