hi,

how to find out what packages depend on a given package ?

i just typed emerge -up world - and what i see? he wants to put jdk on
my system - nice, but i don't want it

it seems strange that he just found out that he needs it - and didn't
put it when i installed other stuff which probably depends on it -
something has to - right ?

so i just want to find out what depends on it, is there a way to do this?

etcat -d <the_given_package>

etcat comes with app-portage/gentoolkit
