| Hi, another day, another problem :-] Well, not a big one, but I've emerged Gnome, and during the process I saw a lot of packets that I don't use and I don't want on my computer get emerged too: CUPS (I don't have a printer !) and NASM for esample. First of all I'd like to uninstall all the packets I don't need (dhcp related also, I use a modem...) without breaking all the system, then I'd like to know if there's a way to install just the stuff I actually use: I know for sure that CUPS and NASM (and Gimp and a lot more) aren't included in the Gnome distribution, how can I install just the gnome.org distribution without all the extras ? Just a Gentoo newbie, sorry if my questions are too simple TIA, nicholas |

Have a look at the list on the Gentoo website and add everything you want (like gnome) and everything you explicitly don't want (with a - sign in front, like -cups). -- A Dieu, Robert Zwerus - e-mail: arzie@dds.nl ICQ UIN: 3943443 - MSN: robert_zwerus@hotmail.com |
